Working hours: Monday - Friday, 9-5


TTM Healthcare Solutions are seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join a well‑established service for their new clinic in Cork.


The new clinic location will be a combined service alongside a sister company in Dublin. The objective is to bring the same exemplary vision and hearing care services which our Dublin locations provide, in a new and intentionally collaborative manner. The successful candidate will work alongside an on‑site administrator and in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary clinical team in Dublin, providing comprehensive assessments and aftercare for refractive and general ophthalmology patients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-operative assessments for refractive surgery and general ophthalmology patients.
  • Perform post-operative reviews and provide ongoing patient aftercare.
  • Carry out ophthalmic diagnostic testing as part of clinical work‑ups.
  • Manage contact lens trials where required.Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Theatre Exposure (Training Phase, Dublin, approximately 6-10 weeks)

    • Support patient care on surgery days during the Dublin training period, including:

      • Assisting with patient preparation and consent discussions.
      • Medication management and post-operative counselling.
      • Slit lamp examinations prior to patient discharge.

    • (Note: Surgical procedures will not be performed at the Cork clinic).

  • Work collaboratively with the Cork Administrator to ensure clinics run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Respond to patient queries by phone and email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate consultant advice and treatment plans clearly to patients.
  • Prepare discharge letters for referring doctors and community optometrists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Optometry (or equivalent).
  • Active CORU registration.
  • Professional indemnity insurance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Strong patient‑focused service ethic.
  • Previous experience in refractive surgery or ophthalmology is desirable but not essential.
