The Role
We are seeking a Java Support Developer to join a collaborative, office‑based engineering team in North Dublin. This role combines hands‑on Java development with technical support, system investigation, and close collaboration across development, QA, and infrastructure teams. It is ideally suited to someone looking for long‑term stability and growth within a supportive organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Java Application Support & Development
- Investigate, triage, and resolve application issues
- Develop and deploy code fixes and enhancements using Java (currently Java 8)
- Exposure to frontend frameworks such as JSF or PrimeFaces is advantageous
Database & SQL Server Support
- Write and optimise SQL queries
- Diagnose and resolve data‑related issues within Microsoft SQL Server
Cloud & Infrastructure Support (AWS)
- Monitor and analyse logs across AWS services
- Investigate CloudWatch and infrastructure alerts
- Implement corrective actions and preventative solutions
Ticketing & Project Tracking
- Manage incidents, tasks, and projects using Jira
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution
Hardware & Middleware Management
- Support and manage customer clocking devices
- Maintain and troubleshoot a bespoke Java middleware component
Networking Support
- Provide general network troubleshooting and support
- Cisco experience (CCNA or equivalent) is beneficial but not essential
Technical Onboarding & Deployment
- Create and xcfaprz maintain build configurations
- Manage deployments using Jenkins
- Support Single Sign‑On (SSO) implementations using SAML and OIDC
Quality Assurance Collaboration
- Work closely with QA teams on defect tracking
- Assist with bug investigation, resolution, and validation
