We are partnering with an enterprise class organisation undergoing a significant cloud and DevOps transformation.

About the Role

You will take a hands-on technical leadership role, owning cloud engineering strategy while staying close to the code, pipelines and infrastructure in a modern AWS environment.


Responsibilities

  • Carry out a full SWOT analysis of the existing cloud landscape and present clear, actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Lead and coach cloud engineering and DevOps teams in adopting and embedding modern cloud best practices.
  • Shape and enhance a developer-centric platform environment focused on efficiency, self-service and ease of use.
  • Stay hands-on across AWS engineering, automation, CI/CD and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Review and analyse cloud spend, highlight ROI, and identify areas of waste or optimisation opportunities.
  • Provide strong technical leadership while navigating complex organisational, business and technology contexts.

Required Skills

  • Proven hands‑on experience with AWS cloud engineering, automation and modern cloud‑native architectures.
  • Solid background in DevOps, CI/CD and IaC tooling (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Demonstrable track record leading cloud transformation programmes and elevating developer experience.
  • Ability to assess and optimise cloud costs and clearly communicate business value to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge existing approaches.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and inspiring engineering teams while remaining practical and hands‑on.
