Senior Back End Developer

Contract: 12-Month FTC | Location & Work Model: Hybrid - Dublin North (3 days onsite per week) | Salary: €80 - 90K base

An industry-leading airport operator is delivering a major digital transformation programme to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency through cutting‑edge web and mobile platforms.

We are seeking a Senior Back End Developer to design and power the server‑side architecture behind a large‑scale digital ecosystem supporting one of Ireland's busiest transport hubs. This role offers the opportunity to shape scalable APIs, microservices, and integrations that directly impact millions of passengers.

As a Senior Back End Developer, you will play a pivotal role in building secure, high‑performance systems that connect front‑end applications, third‑party suppliers, and internal platforms in a complex, enterprise environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable server‑side applications and microservices using Node.js.
  
• Architect and manage secure, high‑performance APIs (REST/GraphQL) for web and mobile platforms.
  
• Integrate with third‑party vendors, legacy systems, and internal data sources.
  
• Design and optimise database schemas (SQL/NoSQL) and caching strategies (e.g., Redis).
  
• Provide technical leadership in sprint planning, ensuring backend deliverables are clearly defined and aligned with architecture standards.
  

• 
  
• 5+ years' experience as a Back End Developer in complex enterprise environments.
  
• Strong expertise in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript; additional languages (Python, Go) are advantageous.
  
• Deep understanding of MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
  
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  
• Self‑driven communicator with strong ownership, attention to detail, and agile delivery experience (Jira/DevOps).
