Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages to provide physicians with data for diagnostic purposes. Works under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to department protocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others. Performs Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings. Evaluates images for technical quality, performs post‑processing of data, and ensures proper patient identification is recorded. Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient’s needs during their procedures, exemplifying the philosophy of Patient Family Centered Care. Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique and hand‑washing policies. Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols. Other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education: Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

ARRT‑R — ARRT Radiography BLS‑I — Basic Life Support Instructor
or BLS — Basic Life Support
or ARC‑BLS — American Red Cross Basic Life Support
Required Minimum Experience: (No minimum experience listed)
Required Minimum Skills: Ability to operate Diagnostic Imaging equipment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Possess excellent patient/customer service skills.
