About
St. Marys Health Care System is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Pathologists to join our in-house pathology team. This role is an excellent opportunity to step into a well-established practice with smooth operational workflows and strong support from hospital administration.
With the growth that has occurred within the system, this opening will backfill a key role in pathology services and ensure continuity of high-quality diagnostic care.
The new pathologist will work alongside two seasoned colleagues, allowing for a seamless onboarding and strong team collaboration. This is a full-time position based out of Athens GA.
OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
- Established Practice: Join an already well-functioning pathology service that has been fully integrated with hospital operations.
- Experienced Team: Work closely with two other board-certified pathologists with deep knowledge of hospital operations, pathology protocols, and casework.
- Strong Administrative Support: Robust laboratory services and dedicated hospital support.
- Collegial Environment: Collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, surgeons, and radiologists to guide patient care.
- Coverage Model: Shared call coverage, with a manageable and well-balanced workload.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Pathology residency program
- Board Certification through the American Board of Pathology in AP/CP.
- Georgia medical state licensure
- Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
- Strong interpersonal and diagnostic skills with commitment to teamwork and service excellence
