Asset Support Engineer

Help drive reliability across two of the UK's most widely used fleets.

GTR are recruiting an Asset Support Engineer to join our Diesel and Electric fleet engineering team based at Selhurst Depot , supporting the Electrostar and Turbostar fleets that operate across our busy network.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced rolling stock engineer to work within one of the UK's largest and most respected train operating companies, contributing directly to fleet reliability, performance and continuous improvement.

In this technical role, you will provide specialist engineering support across maintenance plan development, engineering change projects, incident investigation and safety-related initiatives , helping ensure our fleets remain safe, reliable and performing at their best for our customers.

• Providing technical support for maintenance plan development and optimisation for the Electrostar and Turbostar fleets

• Supporting and delivering engineering change projects and fleet improvements

• Investigating accidents, incidents and reliability issues

• Analysing performance and reliability data to identify failure trends and improvement opportunities

• Producing clear, concise reports on fleet reliability, availability and safety performance

• Supporting the development of robust fleet improvement programmes

• Ensuring all engineering changes comply with relevant legislation, standards and internal processes

✔ Fleet performance consistently meeting business targets
✔ Effective reliability improvements across the Electrostar and Turbostar fleets
✔ Safe, efficient and value-driven maintenance regimes
✔ Data-driven engineering decisions improving fleet availability

• Proven experience working with rolling stock and traction systems

• Experience with Electrostar, Turbostar, or similar fleets is highly desirable

• Strong analytical and investigative skills with high attention to detail

• Ability to interpret performance data and translate findings into engineering solutions

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across engineering, operations and suppliers
