Hours: 40 per week
Overtime: Paid with prior approval
Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (initial training on Day Shift)
Base Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 + OT(dependent on experience)
Shift Premium: $0.75/hour for afternoon shift
Location: Mississauga
Vacation: 3 weeks, paid quarterly

Production Supervisor – Role Overview
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and manage the daily operations of a dynamic production team. This role is critical in ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
As a Production Supervisor, you will mentor and guide production staff, coordinate workflow, and maintain operational excellence on the afternoon shift, with initial training provided on the day shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate production team activities to ensure timely completion of production targets.
- Enforce safe work practices and compliance with all health and safety policies.
- Plan daily operations, anticipate production challenges (material shortages, equipment issues, rush orders) and minimize downtime.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, safety orientation, and performance evaluations.
- Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to improve skills, productivity, and overall performance.
- Lead daily stand-up meetings to align teams and communicate priorities.
- Develop and update manufacturing work instructions and operational documentation.
- Administer union-related provisions, provide clear expectations, maintain accountability, and deliver regular feedback.
- Oversee administrative activities including health and safety inspections, payroll adjustments, and production reporting.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are met.
- Support Lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, SMED, work simplification, bottleneck management, and process improvement projects.
- Act as a project leader for departmental improvement initiatives as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in a unionized setting.
- Minimum 5 years hands-on production welding experience, including supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with welding robots, CoBots, and automation systems is an asset.
- Flexibility to work both day and afternoon shifts for training purposes.
- Strong knowledge of shop drawings, welding/fabrication processes, and industrial machinery.
- Experience training employees in welding or machine operations.
- Advanced computer skills, including Google Workspace and manufacturing software.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English (French is an asset).
