Workday Spend (Manager/Senior)

This opportunity sits within a client facing solutions function and is ideal for someone who combines Workday Financials expertise with pre sales strength, solution design capability, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

The opportunity

Our client is seeking a Workday Financials Solutions Architect with deep expertise across Spend and Inventory. This role is specifically aligned to the partner ecosystem, so candidates must come from a Workday partner or consultancy background and must hold active Workday implementation certifications.

• Workday Strategic Sourcing
• Workday Supplier Management
• Workday Contract Lifecycle Management
• Other closely aligned Workday Spend or Financials certifications will also be considered, but implementation certification is essential

Duties

• Act as the subject matter expert across Workday Spend and Inventory solutions
• Lead discovery and solution scoping for large or complex deals
• Shape solution strategy, scope, and platform recommendations for client opportunities
• Partner with sales, delivery, and business leaders to define the right client solution
• Support client meetings, answer solution and technical questions, and personalise recommendations
• Create tailored solution materials and demos based on client needs and deal context
• Deliver strong solution demonstrations focused on business value rather than just functionality
• Support business case development, solution costing, and pricing accuracy
• Document scope and solution design clearly throughout the sales process
• Support contracting activity across scope, commercials, and solution definition
• Contribute to RFP responses, delivery model content, and follow up questions
• Collaborate with other architects on multi solution opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, financial, or related discipline
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience across Workday Financials, consulting, delivery, solutioning, and or pre sales
• Strong expertise across Workday Spend and Inventory
• Active Workday implementation certification is required
• Strong preference for implementation certifications in Inventory plus one or more affiliated Spend areas such as Procurement, Expenses, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management, or Contract Lifecycle Management
• Candidates must come from a Workday partner, consultancy, or services environment
• Strong understanding of finance processes, cloud delivery models, and compliance considerations
• Proven ability to apply domain expertise in both delivery and sales environments
• Strong commercial awareness and solution scoping capability
• Excellent communication and consulting skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple opportunities at once
• Technical experience with Workday
