Join our bustling logistics hub in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a Material Handler! We are seeking a proactive and physically capable individual to manage the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining efficient workflows, ensuring inventory accuracy, and supporting overall distribution operations. You will be involved in various tasks, including receiving, stocking, and preparing materials for internal and external use. Safety is our top priority, and adherence to all safety procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE, is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and potentially forklifts (if certified).
- Transport materials to and from production areas, shipping docks, or storage locations.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Support the logistics team in daily operational tasks.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to operate manual and powered material handling equipment.
- Physical stamina to perform lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety principles and practices.
- Familiarity with inventory control procedures is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Reliable attendance and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and PPE requirements.
