About
We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our warehouse operations in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be essential to the smooth flow of goods within our facility. Your primary responsibilities will include the safe and efficient movement of materials, loading and unloading shipments, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining an organized inventory. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to Safety , and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with forklifts and other warehouse machinery is highly desirable. You will be an integral part of our Logistics team, ensuring that materials are where they need to be, when they need to be there. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and other vehicles with inbound and outbound materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from various departments within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Inspect materials and equipment for damage, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and wear all mandated PPE .
- Participate in team efforts to achieve operational goals.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler, Forklift Operator, or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is strongly preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Physical capability to perform tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping, and Lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
