Our growing logistics operation in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk. This pivotal role is responsible for managing the incoming flow of goods into our warehouse, ensuring accuracy and integrity from the moment shipments arrive. You will be instrumental in verifying deliveries against orders, inspecting for damages, and maintaining meticulous records. - Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect all received items for any damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record all receiving data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Label and tag incoming inventory for proper tracking and put-away.
- Stage received goods for distribution to the appropriate warehouse zones.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and other stock management tasks as required.
- Process returns and damaged goods according to established procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, shipping, or warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Understanding of Safety best practices in a logistics setting.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
