The QA Test Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing and maturing automated test suites across our API, desktop, and mobile platforms. The successful candidate will focus on creating resilient test scripts and ensuring that our testing efforts are tracked and reported.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable automation scripts using WebdriverIO (WDIO) with TypeScript.
- Execute multi‑platform testing across APIs, desktop web applications, and mobile (iOS/Android) environments.
- Test management & reporting by integrating and managing test cases, results, and execution runs within TestRail.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks to improve execution speed, reduce flakiness, and increase coverage.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to define clear acceptance criteria and map automated tests to manual test cases in TestRail.
- Perform root cause analysis on test failures, identifying whether issues stem from application code or test scripts, and report defects with precision.
- Support the delivery team by providing clear, data‑driven visibility into quality metrics and test progress via TestRail dashboards and reports.
- Work with the development team to manually validate stories when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- A minimum of 5+ years in a Test Automation role, specifically focused on cross‑platform quality assurance.
- Expert‑level proficiency in WebdriverIO, TypeScript, Mocha, and Appium.
- Strong proficiency in using TestRail (or similar) for test case management, tracking execution history, and generating quality reports.
- Strong experience in automating API endpoints and validating complex data structures.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on writing high‑quality, reusable test code and maintaining well‑structured test suites.
- Experience working in an agile project delivery model, using tools such as Jira or similar for task management.
Location
A hybrid approach will be used – i.e., a combination of on‑site at Dublin Airport offices and remote. The successful candidate is expected to work on site three days per week. xcfaprz Some additional activities, such as technical architecture workshops or sprint planning, may specifically require an onsite presence; these will be planned and agreed in advance.
