Key Tasks and Responsibilities
External-facing activities of the role will include:
· Research and identify potential customers and markets
· Build professional, trust-based relationships with prospective clients
· Qualify new opportunities based on customer needs and business priorities
· Understand the customer's environment, use cases, and operational goals
· Clearly articulate the benefits of the business secure information exchange offering and how it differs from competitors
· Develop a sustainable pipeline of customer-driven opportunities
· Coordinate internal teams and subject matter experts to progress and close opportunities
· Represent the business professionally at industry events, special interest groups, and community networks
Internal-facing activities of the role will include:
· Capture and share market intelligence and customer insights with the wider sales and product teams
· Contribute to the business market strategy through insight into customer challenges and operational trends
· Feed into the marketing programme to ensure campaigns are aligned with customer pain points
· Support wider sales activity, including attending customer meetings and contributing to bids and proposals
· Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM record, and ensure proactive engagement across the customer lifecycle
Required skill set
· Proven experience in a client-facing sales role.
· Experience in technology sales, software development, or cyber security is essential.
· Confident and effective presenter—comfortable delivering both in-person and virtual presentations to a range of audiences
· Able to engage with a broad spectrum of individuals, including highly technical specialists, senior decision-makers, early-career professionals, neurodiverse colleagues, and stakeholders with varying communication styles or levels of technical understanding
· A natural organiser – comfortable managing multiple priorities and updating systems such as CRMs
· Digitally literate and confident using tools to manage client relationships and workflow
· A quick learner, able to build understanding of our customers and technology portfolio
· Excellent interpersonal skills – enjoys networking, listening actively, and developing meaningful relationships
· Exposure to complex or hierarchical environments (e.g. public sector) is beneficial but not essential
