Role Description


This is a full-time on-site role for an Intermediate Structural Drafter and Designer. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams to produce shop, technical, and architectural drawings for various industrial projects.


This is a full-time on-site role as an Intermediate Structural Drafter Designer located in Vancouver, BC (Surrey). As an Intermediate Structural Drafter Designer, you'll be responsible for designing and drafting comprehensive structural drawings and creating detailed reports on projects. You will also work with engineering staff on the preparation of conceptual and final designs and assist in performing calculations and applying codes and standards.


Qualifications


• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Structural Drafter or Designer

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent education and experience

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Navisworks, Revit and Microsoft Office

• Knowledge of industrial construction systems and detailing, structural steel, reinforced concrete design, and foundation design principles

• Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, and contractors

• Experience in coordinating with project managers and site personnel

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information concisely and clearly

• Ability to work on multiple projects with the highest level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different drawing standards and specifications

  • Good knowledge of structural engineering
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Advance Steel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Degree or diploma in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Experience in the forestry, mining, petrochemical, or power generation industries is an asset
