Pet Cafe Manager

Wonder Pet Cafe is a unique pet café in downtown Toronto that blends specialty beverages and desserts with curated animal interaction experiences. We collaborate with rescue partners to provide a safe, welcoming space where guests can enjoy quality café service while interacting with adoptable cats and dogs.

We are seeking an experienced Pet Café Manager to oversee all aspects of operations, team leadership, customer experience, compliance, and animal welfare coordination.

The Pet Café Manager is responsible for the overall management of daily operations, ensuring high standards in food service, staff performance, customer satisfaction, and adherence to health, safety, and animal welfare regulations. This role requires strong hospitality management skills combined with the ability to coordinate responsibly within an animal-interaction environment.

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate daily café operations
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff
• Develop and implement operational policies and service standards
• Monitor financial performance, control costs, and manage budgets
• Oversee opening and closing procedures

• Maintain exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction
• Address and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
• Manage reservations and ensure smooth coordination between café and pet interaction areas

• Ensure full compliance with Toronto Public Health food safety regulations
• Maintain proper sanitation standards and food handling procedures
• Oversee protocols related to hygiene separation between food service and animal areas
• Ensure adherence to animal care and welfare guidelines

• Manage food, beverage, and merchandise inventory
• Coordinate with suppliers and rescue partners
• Monitor ordering and cost control processes

• Support promotions, events, and community engagement initiatives
• Collaborate on adoption events and special programs

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Solid understanding of food safety regulations and operational compliance
• Experience in budgeting and cost control
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
• Comfortable working in an environment with cats and dogs
