We are seeking a diligent Order Picker to join our growing logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. As an Order Picker, you will be essential in accurately gathering products from our warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. Your attention to detail and efficiency directly impact our customer satisfaction. You will work in a dynamic warehouse environment, collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure the smooth flow of goods from receipt to shipment. This role is fundamental to our distribution center's success, requiring a commitment to accuracy and safety in all tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately select products from specified warehouse locations based on order tickets or scanning equipment.
- Verify product information and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks to transport items.
- Package orders appropriately for shipping, ensuring items are protected.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall warehouse tidiness.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Meet daily productivity and accuracy targets.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and stock management activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding order status and issues.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an order picking or warehouse role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand product labels and order instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
- Must be capable of lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Basic understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
