Our client, a well-established organisation within the Irish life and pensions market, is seeking a Trainee Actuary to join its growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified actuary to gain exposure across product development, pricing, and market analysis while progressing through their actuarial exams in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders to support the design, monitoring, and ongoing development of product offerings, while also contributing to wider actuarial and commercial initiatives across the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support product oversight and governance processes, including monitoring policyholder funds and related reporting
  • Assist with product pricing, design, and development initiatives
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of product documentation and literature
  • Support product development projects and assist with maintaining product ranges on internal systemsProvide technical support to internal teams, including responding to product queries and assisting with quotations
  • Assist with market research, competitor analysis, and portfolio insights to support strategic decision-making

Candidate Profile

  • Part-qualified actuary with approximately 5–10 actuarial exams passed
  • Around 2+ years’ experience within life insurance, pensions, or a related actuarial environment
  • Experience in product development, pricing, business analysis, xcfaprz or project work would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools (e.g. VBA, R, Python)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities effectively
