About the Role

We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Technical Sales Representative to grow sales across Northern Ireland. Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role combines technical expertise with proactive sales development.


This is a field-based role suited to someone who thrives on independence, takes ownership of their territory, and enjoys developing business from first contact through to long-term partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth across new and existing customers
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals and networking
  • Assess operations and deliver tailored, commercially nutrition solutions
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with farmers through consistent follow-up and professional engagement
  • Manage objections effectively and convert prospects into sustainable business
  • Collaborate with sales and technical teams to provide market insight and customer feedback
  • Maintain strong credit control within your customer base
  • Represent the business professionally at agricultural events
  • Accurately report on sales performance, pipeline activity and market opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced field sales professional with a strong agricultural background and proven success working within the livestock sector. You are confident engaging directly with farmers, understand farm business economics, and are motivated by achieving measurable results.


You are resilient, commercially minded and comfortable operating independently in a competitive, relationship-driven market.


Experience & Knowledge

  • Agricultural qualification (Advanced / Higher Certificate or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of ruminant production systems and animal nutrition
  • Proven experience in field-based or technical sales within the agri-sector
  • Experience working directly with livestock farmers

  • Confident and credible communicator
  • Strong prospecting and new business development ability
  • Skilled in negotiation and objection handling
  • Commercially focused with practical problem-solving capability
  • Highly organised with effective territory and time management

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory
