Our Fermoy, Ireland, facility is FDA registered and certified to ISO 13485:2016 for the manufacture of high‑quality PCBAs, subassemblies and complete devices up to and including Class III medical devices.

Objectives of Position

  • Work closely with the facilities manager to ensure the operation and maintenance of plant infrastructure and utilities meet regulatory, customer and operational requirements, and provide technical facilities support to operations and validated processes in the manufacture of medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure plant facilities meet required standards and support customer and production needs.
  • Provide facilities engineering support for an ISO8 Grade D clean room controlled environment for high‑volume manufacturing of medical devices.
  • Technical support of HVAC systems with reverse osmosis humidification, LPHW, chiller, and gas‑fired boilers.
  • Commissioning and validation of facilities clean‑room systems and utilities.
  • Be the subject matter expert for environmental monitoring systems, pest control operating systems and procedures, DCOs, ECRs and EARs required by change control, and the control of PMs and UM’s with the facilities team.
  • Operate and manipulate BMS control of key facilities infrastructure items to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Ongoing maintenance and recertification of validated systems.
  • Engage with the facilities team and cross‑functionally to ensure timely resolution of technical problems as they arise.
  • Work with external contractors to maintain and troubleshoot facilities and equipment.
  • Report to the facilities manager and give direction to fellow facilities team members to prioritize and schedule work.
  • Identify and drive projects to completion.
  • Drive operational excellence projects in the facilities space cross‑functionally.
  • Support new product installation and facilities changes as required.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and regulations.

Personnel Specifications
Essential

  • Level 8 degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering, or a lower‑level degree or qualification with equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Experienced in maintenance, commissioning and validation of HVAC, CDA and clean‑room systems.
  • A team player who works cross‑functionally to provide facilities expertise to the operations team supporting the clean‑room manufacturing activity.
  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office and experience with BMS/EMS and engineering control systems such as Agile. xcfaprz

Desirable

  • Competency in AutoCAD and drawing generation is an advantage.
