About the Role:
This is a 3-4 Month Contract role with the possibilty of permenenat placement int he future. The Product Owner is responsible for translating business and stakeholder needs into actionable requirements that drive delivery within Navia’s Agile development teams. While the Product Manager defines the strategic direction of the product, the Product Owner converts that strategy into detailed user stories, backlog prioritization, and sprint planning.
This role requires deep understanding of compliance, TPA administration, operations, client servicing, and workflow efficiency. The Product Owner ensures that product changes reduce risk, improve processing efficiency, and enhance both client and member experience.
What You’ll Do:
Build, refine, and maintain a clear, prioritized backlog aligned with product strategy.
Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria reflecting stakeholder needs.
Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering and business stakeholders.
Validate that delivered functionality meets business requirements and acceptance standards.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and Remove impediments to maintain delivery flow.
Promote servant leadership and team autonomy.
Track team performance metrics and drive improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with end users to gather insights, clarify requirements, and validate designs.
Document system behavior and functionality for reference and training.
Support troubleshooting by understanding system behavior, root causes, and solution options.
Coach the team on agile principles and identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and risk reduction.
Use evidence and operational data to drive requirement decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
Education/ Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
3–5+ years in Product Ownership, Scrum Master, or related requirements-focused role.
Experience in TPA administration, COBRA Administration, benefits processing, or compliance-driven workflows required
Knowledge and Technical Skill
Understanding of product functionality, system behavior, data flows, and integrations.
Familiarity with compliance requirements such as SOX, PII/PHI protections, IRS rules, ERISA, etc.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and user story best practices.
Understanding of UX/UI concepts and how design impacts user experience.
Ability to apply information, evidence, and data in decision-making.
Experience with SQL or analyzing data sets is a plus.
Certified Scrum Master or equivalent preferred.

Work Environment:
Candidates within 30 miles of one of our four office locations may be asked to come into the office for a hybrid schedule depending on the role.
