About The Role

The Electrical Sales Engineer is a client-facing, front-end technical role responsible for developing electrical solutions and supporting cost estimates for projects utilising Tate products within the Data Center and mission-critical environment.

The role bridges Engineering and Commercial teams during pre-contract and early project phases, ensuring electrical requirements are clearly understood, technically robust, commercially aligned, and ready for handover to Project Management following award.

This is not a business development role. The Electrical Sales Engineer provides technical leadership and application engineering support, working from established client relationships driven by the Commercial team.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the primary electrical engineering interface with clients, consultants, and internal Commercial teams during pre-contract and early project phases.
  • Lead technical clarification meetings, workshops, and site or factory visits to support electrical solution alignment.
  • Translate client electrical specifications and performance requirements into a clear technical scope for internal design and manufacturing teams.
  • Develop and support electrical design concepts aligned with Data Center requirements, including power distribution, containment, and infrastructure integration.
  • Coordinate with internal engineers and external consultants to ensure electrical outputs meet scope, compliance standards, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Lead and compile technical submissions, electrical design narratives, and supporting documentation for client approval.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, issued on time, and aligned with the commercial proposal.
  • Support pricing assumptions, quantities, and scope clarifications in collaboration with Commercial and Estimating teams.
  • Contribute technical input to cost estimates and Bills of Materials.
  • Support project handover to Project Management upon Purchase Order award, ensuring clarity of electrical scope and design intent.
  • Provide application engineering support for new and existing products within the Data Center and mission‑critical space.
  • Monitor trends in electrical systems, energy efficiency, and power infrastructure to inform R&D and product development.
  • Attend Data Center trade shows and industry events as required.
  • Travel internationally, primarily within the Middle East and Europe; office-based role with strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Facilitate clear communication between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and clients, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are understood.
  • Evaluate construction drawings and electrical specifications to provide technically sound product recommendations.
  • Create and manage quotes for electrical solutions and maintain design history throughout the quoting process.

Additional Expectations

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
