based from our Portland, Dorset office at Osprey Quay G3 Systems is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering Support Services (ESS) team. This role will support the design and engineering of modular and containerised systems, working closely with project managers, engineers and suppliers to deliver innovative engineering solutions. The successful candidate will report to the ESS Operations Manager and be responsible for producing high-quality engineering designs, documentation and technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Develop 3D models using Autodesk Inventor. Produce 2D technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Carry out Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Autodesk Inventor. Produce and review engineering drawings and technical documentation, including integration of multiple systems and services. Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BoMs). Prepare and review manufacturing and integration / installation packages. Provide technical support during production and system integration. Produce technical documentation, including reports, proposals, statements of work (SOW) and specifications. Assist with the preparation of technical tenders and project budgets. Obtain requests for quotations (RFQs) for specialist equipment. Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure design requirements are met. Lead and participate in internal and external design review meetings. Work collaboratively with design engineers and project managers to support project delivery. Qualifications Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline). Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in a mechanical design environment. Skills & Experience Experience integrating multiple services within containerised or modular systems (desirable). Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to perform engineering calculations and analysis. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical plans. Strong understanding of engineering principles and design processes. Knowledge of BS / ISO engineering standards. Security clearance (or ability to obtain security clearance) is required.
