Position Description:
We are seeking a
Senior Systems Administrator (Red Hat Linux)
to support enterprise-level infrastructure operations in a highly secure and mission-critical environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned
Linux Systems Engineer
who thrives in automation, troubleshooting complex production systems, and maintaining highly available enterprise platforms.
This position begins remotely and transitions to hybrid or onsite depending on location and space availability. Candidates must be currently employed, as the onboarding and background process may take several weeks.
You will play a key role in strengthening and maintaining large-scale Linux environments, implementing automation, improving system reliability, and contributing to operational excellence across enterprise infrastructure platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
environments Manage Linux patching and lifecycle management using
Red Hat Satellite Support virtualized infrastructure using
VMware Perform advanced troubleshooting across Linux OS, storage (NAS/SAN), networking, and virtualization layers Develop and maintain automation using
Ansible (Playbooks/Tower) , Python, or PowerShell Implement OS hardening, vulnerability remediation, and system upgrades Participate in disaster recovery exercises and infrastructure resilience initiatives Analyze incident trends and proactively prevent recurring issues Contribute to automation and self-service initiatives to reduce operational toil Follow strict change control processes and governance policies Participate in on-call rotation and evolving schedules (eventually Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, including weekend work) Required Skills/Education:
3-5+ years of professional experience in
Red Hat Linux Administration
(RHEL 7/8/9 preferred) Strong experience with
Red Hat Satellite
for patching and lifecycle management Experience supporting enterprise
VMware
environments Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell) Experience with automation and orchestration tools (Ansible required) Experience using version control systems such as Git/GitHub Working knowledge of NAS, SAN, storage integration, and networking fundamentals Experience working in structured change control environments Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Nice to Have:
Red Hat High Availability (HA) Clustering Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) Jira BigFix RHEV Oracle RAC Additional Requirements:
