About the company

A well-established Irish mechanical, electrical and maintenance contractor is seeking to strengthen its project delivery team. The business has operated for over 20 years and delivers work across multiple sectors including pharmaceutical, data centres, healthcare, and large-scale commercial projects.

Purpose of the role:

Due to continued growth, the company is hiring an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead site delivery from project start through to completion. The role reports to the Mechanical Operations Director.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders including the design team, main contractor, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure scope and requirements are met.
  • Manage and coordinate all phases of mechanical services delivery: pre-construction/planning, construction, testing and commissioning.
  • Maintain a regular site presence to monitor quality, safety, procurement and programme targets.
  • Control project financials, tracking costs and progress throughout the lifecycle.
  • Attend pre-appointment and project meetings, ensuring clear agreement on tender scope and deliverables.
  • Review design documentation and coordinate construction drawings.
  • Ensure installations comply with specifications, change control procedures, and site safety standards.
  • Provide guidance to the operations team to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
  • 5+ years’ experience in a contracting environment (essential).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct teams.
  • Excellent IT and technical capability.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
