Optical Deployment Engineer

Type: Contract (11 months, scope for extension)

Location: Dublin (onsite)

We’re looking for experienced Optical Deployment Engineers to help deliver optical capacity between data centres. The network designs are already in place - you will focus on turning these designs into live deployments, supporting field teams, troubleshooting, and using internal tools to configure and validate devices.

This is a hands‑on role for engineers who enjoy delivery and seeing projects through to completion.

Please note this is a fully onsite position based in Dublin and candidates must have the relevant visa / Irish / EU passport to be considered for this position.

• 
  
• Deliver optical capacity between data centre sites
  
• Prepare deployment documentation and connection packs for field teams
  
• Support field engineers during turn-ups and live deployments
  
• Troubleshoot optical issues and handle deployment‑related tickets
  
• Use internal software tools or scripts (e.g. Python) to configure and validate devices
  
• Work closely with operations and connection teams to make sure deployments are successful
  

• 
  
• Hands‑on experience with DWDM, ROADM or similar optical transport systems xcfaprz
  
• Experience delivering data centre interconnects or high‑capacity optical links
  
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of optical layers (fibre loss, signal quality, OSNR, Q‑factor)
  
• Comfortable supporting field engineers and following pre‑defined designs
  
• Familiarity with automation or scripting to support deployments
