Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical design, development, and support of engineering projects from concept through to manufacture and commissioning. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects in a fast‑paced environment, with strong potential for longer‑term employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, schematics, and wiring diagrams in line with project requirements and applicable standards
- Produce detailed electrical documentation, including BOMs, cable schedules, and technical specifications
- Support the full project lifecycle, from initial concept and design reviews through to testing and commissioning
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated system designs
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, regulations, and safety requirements
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, commissioning, and service teams as required
- Assist with troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of electrical issues
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in electrical design within an industrial, automation, or engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, panel design, and low‑voltage power distribution
- Experience with electrical CAD tools (e.g. EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar)
- Familiarity with relevant IEC, EN, or other applicable electrical standards
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently xcfaprz while also contributing effectively within a team
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working in regulated or standards‑driven environments
- Exposure to PLC systems, instrumentation, or industrial automation
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design‑for‑manufacture principles
- Previous experience working on contract roles or fast‑paced project delivery
Contract Details
- Initial 6‑month contract
- Competitive daily or hourly rate (DOE)
- Opportunity to convert to a permanent staff position based on performance and business needs
