Overview

SUMMARY: Reporting to Senior Engineering Manager, the Automation Engineer will Provide technical guidance from concept through design, development, system delivery, commissioning and validation.

Responsibilities
  • Design process improvement and execute in-house automation projects.
  • Liaise with Engineering team to identify opportunities to improve systems.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments in industrial automation technology and introduce them to plant wide operations to achieve cost savings and improve productivity.
  • Develop automation procedures to support and maintain process lines.
  • Participate in Preventative and Corrective Maintenance Programs to improve OEE.
  • Implement and support automation systems for manufacturing and packaging.
  • Assist in setting up new machines and transferring equipment to different plants.
  • Provide automated solutions on budget and on time.
  • Conform to the requirements of the quality and environmental management system.
  • Additional ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a medical device manufacturing engineering role is desirable.
  • Effective communicator and influencer across multi-functional teams, with the ability to manage internal and external customers’ requirements.
  • To be a good team member, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department and site objectives.
  • Project Management training is advantageous, with experience working on projects from conception to completion. xcfaprz
  • Knowledge of medical device validation protocols and associated documentation
  • Implementation experience of validation protocols
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Solid Works is desirable
  • Lean and six sigma knowledge
  • Strong process engineering background
  • New product introduction experience
  • Strong team player, with the ability to work on own initiative.
