Role & Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day stability and performance of production systems, ensuring services remain reliable and responsive.
- Shape and evolve monitoring, alerting, and observability approaches to improve visibility across applications and infrastructure.
- Respond to live incidents, lead troubleshooting efforts, and help reduce repeat issues through root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Support deployments across non‑production and production environments, with a strong emphasis on automation and consistency.
- Work closely with development teams throughout the full service lifecycle, from early design discussions through to live operations.
- Improve operational processes by analysing support trends, identifying resilience gaps, and feeding insights back into engineering teams.
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows by supporting validation steps, operational checks, and reliability-focused improvements.
- Help scale platforms sustainably by reducing manual effort and increasing system resilience through automation.
- Collaborate with distributed teams across different regions and time zones in a positive, team‑oriented environment.
- Share knowledge, mentor less‑experienced colleagues, and support internal learning initiatives. xcfaprz
- Participate in a structured on‑call rotation, with occasional out‑of‑hours support.
Technical Experience
- Experience with production monitoring and observability tools such as log aggregation and performance monitoring platforms
- Strong background in infrastructure and application monitoring
- Hands‑on experience with automation and configuration tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef or similar)
- Familiarity with cloud environments and gateway‑based architectures
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Exposure to web servers and traffic routing technologies (e.g. Nginx – desirable)
- Comfort working in Linux‑based environments
- Scripting or automation experience to reduce manual operational tasks
