Location: Dublin, Ireland (flex – 1 day per week from office)

What will I be doing?

  • Drive DevOps best practices around CI/CD, automation, scalability, and reliability across LearnUpon's infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Lead technical innovation and strategic initiatives across multiple teams and services.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to elevate the entire engineering organization.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering and cross‑functional partners to shape our long‑term technical roadmap and strategy.
  • Identify and solve complex technical challenges that significantly impact LearnUpon's growth and success.
  • Champion engineering best practices, including code quality, system design, and operational excellence.
  • Resolve conflicts and drive alignment between teams to build a cohesive engineering culture.

What skills do I need?

  • 8+ years of exceptional DevOps/SRE experience, with a proven track record of technical leadership in large‑scale, distributed systems.
  • Deep focus on containerized environments, supporting local development, CI/CD workflows, and deployment across cloud platforms.
  • Proven expertise in AWS, with a deep understanding of scalability, reliability, and security in production environments.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and Helm charts as foundations for modern infrastructure orchestration.
  • Proficiency in IaC (Terraform, Ansible) to build modular, reusable infrastructure patterns.
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and developing automation tooling (Bash, Python, Go).
  • Demonstrated success in leading technical initiatives that span multiple teams and services.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.
  • Track record of mentoring and elevating the skills of other engineers, including senior‑level talent.
