About
Join our fast-paced logistics operation in Chicago, Illinois as a Forklift Operator! We are seeking experienced and certified individuals to manage the movement of materials within our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a commitment to Safety, and proficiency in operating various types of forklifts. You will work closely with our warehouse team to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment. We emphasize adherence to all Safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and maintaining a secure work environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Transport goods to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform tasks that may involve some Lifting of up to 50 lbs when not operating the forklift.
- Understand and implement best practices in logistics and material handling.
- Prioritize Safety in all aspects of forklift operation.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform tasks involving significant Lifting when required.
- Familiarity with PPE and its importance in warehouse operations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Commitment to maintaining a Safe work environment.
