About
We are looking for a certified and reliable Forklift Operator to join our bustling warehouse operations in Richmond, Virginia. This role is fundamental to our daily logistics activities, ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the facility. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials, as well as assisting with inventory management and order fulfillment. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all operators to be vigilant and adhere to all safety protocols. A strong commitment to maintaining a secure and productive workspace is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, docks, and other warehouse areas.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with order picking, staging, and preparing shipments.
- Participate in inventory counts and help maintain accurate stock levels.
- Ensure that work areas are kept clean, organized, and free from obstructions.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Support general warehouse duties as assigned to meet operational demands.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks, up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in reading shipping labels and order forms.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced logistics environment.
- Team player attitude and strong communication skills.
