About
We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our busy distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency in our receiving process. This position is vital to our supply chain and logistics operations, requiring a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damages, shortages, or discrepancies, documenting any issues.
- Accurately record all received inventory into the company's inventory management system.
- Tag and label received items for proper storage and distribution.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding inbound shipments.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (after proper training and certification).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock put-away.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, shipping, or a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in using basic computer systems and inventory software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of logistics principles and warehouse operations.
- Good communication skills.
Working Conditions:
This position is based in a warehouse environment that may involve exposure to varying temperatures. Regular physical activity, including lifting and manual handling, is expected. Safety is a top priority, and all employees must wear the designated PPE at all times. This is a key role within our logistics and operations team.
