Job Summary:
Are you passionate about accuracy and efficiency in inventory management? We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. This critical role involves overseeing and managing all aspects of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimize stock loss. Your expertise will directly impact our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring product availability and optimizing warehouse space. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of inventory control best practices.Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using WMS and other systems.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize errors and loss.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and expiration date tracking.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and logistics teams regarding stock levels and replenishment.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to maximize space and accessibility.
  • Develop and report on key inventory metrics.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and use appropriate PPE during inventory operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus. Proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics. Strong proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks requiring physical dexterity. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles is beneficial. Must be reliable and committed to maintaining data integrity.
