We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our high-volume warehouse in San Jose, California. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your role is crucial in managing the flow of goods within our **logistics** network, ensuring materials are transported to and from production, receiving, or shipping areas. Maintaining **safety** standards is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all operational guidelines and **PPE** requirements. This position involves regular **lifting** and requires precision in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment. You will also assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including loading and unloading trucks. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and has a proven track record of operating various types of forklifts safely and effectively. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring stability and **safety**.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report any issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all **safety** regulations and **PPE** requirements.
- Perform general warehouse duties as assigned, including some manual **lifting**.
- Support the overall **logistics** and operational goals of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach).
- Demonstrated ability to perform **lifting** of materials as part of warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of warehouse **safety** procedures and **PPE** usage.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Familiarity with **logistics** and warehouse operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
