Our Columbus, Ohio distribution center is seeking a reliable and efficient Material Handler to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to transport goods, load and unload trucks, and manage inventory placement. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, efficiency, and accuracy in all material handling tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of material handling equipment and a solid understanding of warehouse safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and logistics best practices.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
