Our Dallas, Texas distribution center is seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our busy logistics team. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that all deliveries are accurately documented, inspected, and processed efficiently. Your role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our inventory from the moment it enters our facility. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to safety. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS) promptly and accurately.
- Tag and label received items for proper storage and tracking.
- Organize and stage incoming materials for put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Assist with inventory control tasks and cycle counts as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving packages up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse safety best practices.
- Experience with WMS software is a plus.
