About
Our Washington, D.C. facility is seeking a dependable Material Handler to manage the movement and organization of goods within our logistics center. This role is essential for maintaining efficient operations, ensuring that materials are transported safely and accurately to their intended destinations. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the highest standards of Safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and hand trucks.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse storage.
- Transport materials to and from various departments within the facility.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and cycle counting.
- Ensure that all materials are handled according to established Safety protocols.
- Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting efficient logistics flow.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
- Support team members in achieving operational targets and maintaining workflow.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent physical tasks, including significant Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety regulations and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and logistics principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Good spatial awareness and dexterity.
- Commitment to ensuring a Safe working environment for all.
