About
Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a challenging role in New York City, New York? We are seeking a professional to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment within our busy logistics hub. This position requires precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to Safety. You will be responsible for moving materials, loading and unloading vehicles, and ensuring the organized storage of goods. Your expertise will be vital to maintaining the smooth operations of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload freight from trailers and containers.
- Transport materials throughout the facility, ensuring timely delivery to designated areas.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on Safety and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
- Adhere to strict guidelines for handling various types of goods within our logistics network.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve operational targets.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with different types of logistics equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of Safety.
