About
We are seeking an energetic and dependable Material Handler to join our warehouse team in Detroit, Michigan. This role is integral to our daily warehouse operations, focusing on the efficient movement and organization of materials. You will be involved in receiving, storing, and distributing a variety of goods, ensuring that our logistics processes are streamlined and accurate. A commitment to safety and a strong work ethic are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Move materials to and from storage areas using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Stage materials for shipping and production.
- Assist with inventory control and stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and report any damaged goods or safety hazards.
- Support the shipping and receiving departments as needed.
- Participate in team efforts to meet warehouse operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse equipment and tools.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and its importance.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn and perform various warehouse tasks.
