*Role Overview*
The Chief Technologist oversees daily imaging operations while maintaining clinical competency and supporting departmental performance.
Leadership & Operations
* Oversee daily imaging workflow and patient throughput
* Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance support to technologists
* Coordinate staffing assignments and assist with coverage planning
* Support onboarding and training of new technologists
* Manage technical supply ordering and time approvals
* Serve as the primary clinical and operational resource for imaging staff
Quality, Safety & Compliance
* Oversee QA/QC programs across imaging modalities
* Ensure compliance with ACR accreditation standards, NYS DOH regulations, and radiation safety requirements
* Enforce ALARA principles and infection prevention protocols
* Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory records
Clinical Responsibilities
* Perform diagnostic imaging procedures as needed
* Ensure proper positioning and technical quality standards
* Support radiologists and providers during procedures when appropriate
This role balances operational oversight with hands-on clinical excellence.
*Qualifications*
* Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
* ARRT registered Radiologic Technologist
* Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist license
* Associate degree required, Bachelor’s preferred
* Advanced modality experience (CT or Mammography) preferred
* 3–5 years of diagnostic imaging experience
* Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
* BLS certification required within 90 days
*Work Environment*
* Outpatient imaging centers in Clay and Northeast Syracuse
* Structured weekday schedule
* Combination of leadership and clinical responsibilities
