Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated
Junior Applications Engineer
to join our Applications Engineering team. This role focuses on developing
whitepapers, application notes, and technical briefs , while also supporting the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team and assisting with
product compliance research and documentation.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, enjoys technical writing, and is eager to learn industry standards that govern renewable energy and power electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Writing & Applications Support Research, draft, and edit
whitepapers, application notes, and technical briefs
highlighting product features, applications, and industry relevance. Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, professional, and accessible technical documents. Support the PLM team by documenting
end-use applications, product requirements, and system integration scenarios. Compliance & Standards Awareness
Assist with
product compliance activities
by staying up to date on evolving standards (e.g., UL 1741, UL 9540, UL 3141, IEEE 1547, NEC 705). Research and summarize compliance requirements relevant to different products, supporting R&D and PLM teams with actionable insights. Contribute to documentation that demonstrates compliance in product applications and industry use cases. Problem Analysis & R&D Collaboration
Review field issues and customer feedback to identify recurring technical challenges. Summarize findings into structured problem statements for R&D teams to replicate and resolve. Participate in lab replication efforts when needed to validate compliance scenarios or application cases. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Applications Engineering, R&D, Compliance, and PLM teams to ensure documentation and compliance findings align with product development goals. Provide internal teams with compliance updates and application insights that inform design improvements and future whitepapers. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). Strong
technical writing skills
with the ability to prepare whitepapers, technical notes, and structured documentation. Ability to interpret and summarize
compliance standards and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of electrical systems, renewable energy, or power electronics preferred. Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Preferred Skills
Exposure to
compliance testing, lab work, or certification processes. Familiarity with PLM tools and document control processes (ECR, ECN, ECO). Experience creating structured technical documents or research reports. Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in applications engineering, product compliance, or technical writing. Physical Requirements:
This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, computer work and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodations.
