About
Airloom Energy is building the next era of resilient, utility-scale power. Our patented wind generation system replaces massive traditional turbines with a low-profile, roller-coaster-style track that uses small, adjustable wings to capture wind energy more efficiently, at lower cost, and in a fraction of the time. By dramatically reducing parts, mass, and construction timelines, Airloom is unlocking faster, more scalable clean energy deployment-designed to respect the land, the views, and the communities we serve. With headquarters in Laramie, Wyoming and a pilot system underway near Rock River, we're assembling a team to help bring this breakthrough technology to global scale.
Position/Company Value Proposition:
You will use your expertise in embedded principles and experience designing complex systems for aerospace and industrial applications to be a leader in the design of a utility-scale plant to demonstrate the scalability and cost effectiveness of Airloom's novel approach to wind energy generation.
Position Key Skills:
System Development: Design and develop electrical control systems for novel, lightweight wind turbine technology Software/Firmware Development: Develop and maintain C/C++ applications for real-time control, monitoring, and data acquisition, focusing on embedded systems Modeling & Simulation: Perform simulation and modeling of control algorithms Hardware Integration: Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to integrate sensors, actuators, and power electronics Testing and Validation: Develop test plans, conduct engineering tests on prototypes, and analyze data to validate performance Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree 5+ years of related experience Demonstrated capability with C/C++ programming for embedded and real-time systems Experience: Experience with motor controllers, generator controls, and power electronics is highly relevant. Familiarity with Simulation Toolslike MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling software. Demonstrated vehicle-level and systems-level knowledge to confidently execute to plan but also fill in the gaps or solve complex issues in real time. Position Duties:
Conceptual Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative concepts and solutions Analysis: Conduct analyses to optimize designs and ensure performance Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the fabrication, planning, and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure functionality and performance. Manufacturing Support: Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost effective Documentation: Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering documentation Critical safety systems integration: Capability to integrate with safety critical systems by understanding failure modes, hazards analysis, and actions associated with real-time troubleshooting
Position/Company Environment:
Small early-stage green energy startup with a unique method of generating wind energy backed by some of the biggest names in investing. Chance to create never seen before technology using off the shelf parts.
