About
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Detroit, Michigan. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be involved in the shipping and receiving process, ensuring that all goods are handled safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation and a strong understanding of warehouse operations. This position requires adherence to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials around the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with efficiency and care.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues immediately.
- Pick and stage orders accurately based on customer requirements and shipping schedules.
- Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock replenishment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and pathways are clear.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
