We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely fulfillment of orders. You will be interacting with other warehouse personnel and supervisors, maintaining clear communication to ensure operational efficiency. Attention to detail is paramount to prevent damage to goods and equipment. Proper documentation of movements and inventory checks will be required. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Put away received goods in designated locations.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment.
- Conduct pre-operation forklift inspections and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to Safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
