About
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our busy warehouse team in Portland, Oregon. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials throughout the facility. Your duties will encompass a wide range of tasks, including receiving, storing, organizing, and moving inventory. You will operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, and may be trained on other machinery to assist with your responsibilities. This position is fundamental to our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring that materials are managed effectively from entry to exit. The ideal candidate possesses excellent physical stamina, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to follow instructions precisely. You will work collaboratively with other team members to maintain an organized and productive workspace, contributing to the overall success of our distribution efforts in the vibrant Portland area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
- Move materials within the warehouse using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
- Pick and pack materials for outgoing shipments as directed.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the consistent use of required PPE .
- Support the overall logistics flow of goods through the facility.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Must be capable of frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and inventory management systems.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
