About
We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will be central to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, organizing packages, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. A meticulous approach to documentation and a good understanding of shipping procedures are essential. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all shipped items are properly packaged to prevent damage during transit. Safety is a top priority; you must be familiar with and adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE. While this role may involve some lifting, the primary focus is on administrative and organizational tasks within the shipping department. Experience with shipping software and a background in logistics are highly desirable. We are committed to providing a productive and secure work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation.
- Accurately sort and stage outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate pick-ups with shipping carriers.
- Verify shipment details against order information.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and records.
- Package items securely for transit.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Track shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Use appropriate PPE when handling packages or operating equipment.
- Understand the flow of logistics for outgoing goods.
- Perform general clerical duties related to shipping.
- Conduct basic inventory checks of shipping supplies.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to management promptly.
