Join our dedicated team in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a certified Forklift Operator. This role is critical for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport goods, load and unload trailers, and assist in inventory management. Your expertise in handling equipment and commitment to safety will be paramount to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Transport finished goods, raw materials, and components throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers accurately and safely.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Understanding of logistics and material handling principles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliability and strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
