We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Allied Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our dynamic medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will assist in performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the interventional radiology suite, supporting physicians and ensuring exceptional patient care. *Responsibilities*
* Prepare and operate sophisticated imaging equipment including X-ray, CT (Computed Tomography), PET scan (Positron Emission Tomography), mammography, DEXA scan (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry), and ultrasound systems such as sonography for diagnostic evaluation.
* Assist radiologists during interventional procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
* Conduct diagnostic radiology procedures with precision, including vascular access, biopsies, drainages, and other minimally invasive interventions.
* Ensure proper patient positioning by applying thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain high-quality images.
* Maintain strict adherence to medical terminology standards and safety protocols, including infection control and radiation safety guidelines.
* Support emergency room and level I trauma center activities by providing rapid imaging services during urgent care situations.
* Document all procedures accurately in medical records while following hospital policies for data integrity and confidentiality.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning for complex cases involving nuclear medicine, emergency medicine, or urgent care scenarios.
*Experience*
* Proven experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist or in a similar diagnostic radiology role within a hospital setting.
* Prior work in a level II trauma center or level I trauma center environment is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated proficiency with medical imaging modalities including X-ray, CT scans, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, ultrasound (sonography), and nuclear medicine techniques such as PET scan procedures.
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation processes essential for accurate imaging interpretation.
* Experience supporting emergency medicine operations with the ability to perform under pressure in urgent care settings.
* Familiarity with aseptic techniques required for invasive procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
