Contract Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Reports To: CEO / Technical Lead

STRATA7 Technology is seeking an experienced 3CX PBX Support Contractor to assist their customers with solution design, implementation, training, troubleshooting, and maintenance of their cloud-based 3CX phone systems. The ideal candidate is a 3CX-certified professional with strong VoIP and networking expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.
The service calls that this position entails are typically short and quick, so this could easily be a secondary job for the right person.
Responsibilities Include:
Customer Solution Design & Implementation
Consult with customers to assess business needs and design 3CX-based VoIP solutions.
Configure and deploy cloud-hosted 3CX PBX instances for new clients.
Integrate 3CX with SIP trunk providers, CRM platforms, and other third-party applications.
Implement security best practices, including firewall rules, SBC setup, and QoS optimization.
Customer Training & Support
Provide onboarding and end-user training for phone system administration and usage .
Develop documentation and guides for customer self-service troubleshooting.
Offer post-implementation support, including system optimizations and feature enhancements.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
Diagnose and resolve SIP, VoIP, call quality, and connectivity issues .
Monitor system performance and proactively address potential problems.
Perform software updates, backups, and security patching as needed.
Escalate unresolved issues to 3CX support or SIP providers when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
3CX Certification (Preferred: Advanced/Professional) Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting 3CX cloud-based PBX systems Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP trunking, and networking fundamentals Experience with SBC setup, VLANs, NAT, and firewall configurations Familiarity with Windows/Linux-based 3CX deployments Ability to troubleshoot call quality issues, RTP streams, and SIP signaling Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer training Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Teams Direct Routing & CRM integrations Familiarity with UCaaS, hosted VoIP solutions, and SIP providers Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and troubleshooting Experience with network monitoring tools (Wireshark, PRTG, etc.)
Contract Terms & Compensation:
Flexible remote work schedule based on customer needs.
Hourly rate or project-based compensation (to be negotiated based on experience).
Potential for long-term engagement and expanded responsibilities.
